Good morning everyone. Hot Earl Grey and egg muffins this morning. They are calling for snow in the forecast this weekend again. Looks like this year is going to be the year for snow. Seems like the last snow just melted. Pork roast in the crockpot as soon as I get off of here. Making some meals for a couple days. Hubby is putting his little table back together and that finishes another wood working project. I will post some pictures on the blof when he gets finished. It turned out cute. Quilting project under way also and I will post about it soon also. Nice to have the quilt frame back up and it is like a long lost friend. SO relaxing for me to space out and stitch. The bird feeders are crowded and I counted 8 cardinals at one time yesterday. I love cardinals.

Dept of Transportation showed up and put the mailbox back up yesterday. Snowstorm due again tonight. Tomorrow they will knock it back down again. Just a viscous circle, round and round Lol. Got 5 pork roast meals made in the fridge ready to go and I think I will make a casserole I think also. Ground beef and pepper casserole. That should get us through the storm and I also want to make some squash soup. Bird feeders topped up. Plenty of powdered milk and I don't really eat much bread anymore. Southern snowmageddon round 3, bring it on !

Weather here has been sort of cold? We had snow over the weekend but it turned to mush very quickly. I cant believe it is time to start thinking about the garden season. Have a lot of canning to do; beans and chicken and meat.
We have lived in this house four years now, and I am just now starting to get my husband's office decorated. Poor guy. Everything was still in boxes. Lol.

We are in our 7th year here in the "little house" and continue to tackle small projects every year as we go along. We hired out someone updated the plumbing and electrical and put in a new furnace but everything else we have been tackling ourselves. We are young enough and have the knowledge and ability from years of owning homes and doing repairs. We replace our own windows, do our own painting, stripping cabinets and even wood flooring. The projects give my husband something to occupy his time and keep him active, saves us money and we know our projects are done right. And believe it or not we enjoy doing it. I love doing woodwork, painting, wall papering, laying tile etc.

Good morning everyone. High today 29 and the low tonight is like 10. Woke up to 1.5 inches of fresh snow and little ice. Definitely a day to snuggle down and find a hobby under a warm blanket.

I bought a camera this week.. A little intimidated by the thought of doing something with it. Lol
Got 12 quarts of kidney beans canned this week. Used to be intimidated by canning, so maybe there is hope. 😂

Good morning! Snow flurries possible today. Wild birds are eating me out of house and home with all this cold weather but I do enjoy watching them out the windows. My quilt on the frame is coming along nicely. Seems there are many sick in the area but we are warm and healthy.

Feels like a brief respite for whatever comes net, so I am trusting God to help me focus on priorities. Got some more chicken canned, black beans canned, and looking to dehydrate some store-bought broccoli. DD, I just saw all the recent pantry recipes you posted; they look delicious and very much in line with some questions I had, namely about barley!!! I have several packages of barley and had no idea what to do with them. Feel the need to go through closets and nooks and crannies to see what is going on in this house and what I can pass on to other people.it is amazing how much people accumulate over time.

I have plenty of chicken canned but I am watching for beef roasts to go on sale as I want to can some chunked beef in broth. Best stuff ever. I am chopping and freezing mushrooms today! As for barley it is wonderful with beef. So few people eat it anymore.

The ground is again blanketed in white as we got three inches of snow last night again. My days continue to be consumed reading, quilting and watching the bird feeders outside my windows. We did make a curbside pickup grocery run yesterday before the storm . Prices are going up unbelievably in the grocery store with a great deal of stuff unavailable. My chickens have decided to lay again on sunny days so egg production is going up again. Stay safe and warm out there.

Good morning. The snow has melted again from snow event #5 of the year just in time for rain to move in this mornig along with a chance of flurries again tomorrow. The last time they predicted flurries we got 2 inches. My quilt on the frame is coming along famously and hoping to soon be taking it off for binding. Then on to completing the quilting top number 2. Just moving right along. Planning a shopping trip probably tomorrow to restock on birdseed. Those little rascals are about to eat me out of house and home. Will pick up a few sale items from the grocer while I am out. Stay warm and safe out there.
