Spent several hours out there today. Picked tomatoes, peppers, onions, cucumbers, and weeds. Lol. Having to be brutal with the pruning; yanked out some plants today to give my priority crops more space. For some reason I still have no squash or beans. Not sure what is going on with that. Several of the cucumber plants seem to be struggling. It was so humid today.

Last year they were ate up with squash bugs, but this year we are just now pulling one or two small ones off every few days, and we have a whole row. I traded a neighbor some of our heirloom tomatoes and a jar of blackberry jelly, and she gave me half a dozen or so cucumbers. I think I'll make some refrigerator pickles!

Hey all, I picked cukes, peppers, tomatoes and okra. Canned 10 jars of salsa and have okra ready to bag and freeze.

I picked my first cantaloupe today. Tried a new to me heirloom variety called Minnesota Midget. A smaller cantaloupe easier consumed by 2 people. Will let you know how it tastes. Tomatoes are finally ripening and picked the last of the elderberries. The usual warm weather crops okra, squash, purple hull peas and beans coming on soon.

We have been gone for a week, so a little scared to see what quantities my husband picked. I left for work just as the produce was being brought in. On the flip side, where I work has three established fruit trees, and I got permission today to have the family come harvest off them. One green apple and one red apple variety. And one pear tree. Hoping to get enough to can. Hooray!

My potato plants are dying but I never saw them flower. So I dug up one to see if theres even any potatoes around and sure enough there were 3 good size potatoes under that dead plant.
