If I can beat the raindrops, I hope to pick okra, tomatoes, yellow squash and peppers this morning. After I milk the goats, that is.
What are you picking today?

I picked squash, beans, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and dill yesterday before the rain came. Oh, and half a dishpan of blackberries too. I went out this morning and found four good sized cucumbers I missed yesterday.

Sounds like a good harvest.

Today my husband picked a ton of jalepeños, cucumbers, banana peppers, tomatillos, tomatoes. We got the onions moved inside before this afternoon's storms. At the rate this summer is going, it looks like I get to process food one day a week. OMG!! Not sure how this is gonna work out. We have been putting over ripe cucumbers into our breakfast protein smoothies. Any other ideas on how to use them?

Nothing it is just too hot. I'm gonna ride the armchair today. I ran out and mowed some of the garden, yes mowed around the veges. I just can't keep up with the weeds and crabgrass anymore, so I mow it. Then came in to cool off a while. After that I made a mad dash out to pick the little bit of squash and okra we have and have stayed in the AC ever since. I am thankful for the AC and armchair.

I have been watering along but not doing a whole lot. I was up at 4:30 doing chores to try to beat the heat. At 4:30 it was still 70 degrees.

Went to pick some free blueberries at a neighbors after breakfast, came home and milked the goats. It's 95* now. Mowing the yard will have to wait until tomorrow. It's just too hot.

We got tomatoes today, and one yellow squash in the garden we picked at my sisters. Dad got a few gallons at his house, too. The Roma’s are in another sisters garden that went in two weeks after these, so we have purple cherokees, big boys, and Ruby’s monsters. We had a hard rain that split quite a few last week, but these looked great!
