How have the events of 2020 changed what or how much food you grow/store and are those changes permanent?

For us it just hastened what we were already planning to do, aka can the garden, etc. The early part of the year showed me where the holes were as far as what we can produce onsite. We rely on stores for milk and butter and meats and cheese; even the easy convenience foods were not something I was expecting. Now that I have almost a summer of a "canning" garden under my belt, it will be interesting to see if I guesstimated correctly on quantities.

I increased my garden size and crammed veggies in every little hole because I was uncertain if the older kids would come home etc. So basically I have canned all summer and tried to stock up on the things that like you we do not produce ourselves. I have always kept a great deal of food on hand so basically I just increased it. We also increased things like firewood and extra clothing. It is impossible to second guess where the next shortage will be. I have to say I did not see the toilet paper thing coming at all Lol I watch and read as much as possible and am trying to learn from this experience what in the future I should maybe keep more of on hand at any given time.
