So, it is looking like yet another summer where I gaze longingly out the window at my vegetable and flower garden beds, held hostage by whatever stinging bugs we have at the moment. It isnt limited to just evenings; regardless of the time of day or the length of time (even if taking out the trash), I will come inside with a bite. I would understand more if we lived in the country, but we live in the center of a small town on the outskirts of a major metropolitan city!
I have had my B vitamin levels checked. Normal. I have a bug zapper hanging in the backyard. I have worn long sleeves, long pants, and a hat. I have tried various essential oil sprays, both commercial and homemade. Those actually caused an immediate skin rash. I just bought a citronella candle and incense smoke thingy.
Aside from spraying for bugs, what the heck do I do? I dont mind using standard bug spray if I absolutely have to. Bug bites have put me in the hospital before, so this is a big deal. We live within five miles of the Mississippi, so the city does yearly city-wide bug fumigation.

Luckily I do not have violent reactions to them. I do occasionally have to pop a Benadryl if I get enough bites but that is rare! My heart goes out to you.

Keep in outdoor sitting area. I pinch a leaf or so and crush it and rub on me. It definitely seems to deter the bugs away and I like the scent also.

I don't know how you actually feel about insecticide.but I've used triazicide in the liquid form. it's just a matter of connecting the spray bottle to the garden hose.and spray where you need to. it'll get rid of so many different insects. flea's, ant's,to jiggers.among so many others.only way I'll use the granial,is if I to get rid of ants only.
