Had a great Sunday and got to talk to the kids and grandkids. Loving the cooler temps as it was in the 40's this morning when I got up (4:30). I got some garden clean up done over the weekend. Me and the ducks. My little parade marching through the garden eating bugs as they go. Tomatoes still in the dehydrator but finishing up. Still have a few onions to dehydrate and elderberries. Have been gathering flower seeds too. Blessings CQ

I spent my free time surfing a blog by a woman who sews and wears 1930-50's era clothing. Love it! Aside from that, I worked at the shelter, and ignored the apples at home that need canning.

Rain has set in so my husband and I took a road trip to Amish country yesterday to purchase some bulk spices, honey, maple syrup, pecans and walnuts. Also found yeast bricks and bought 2 for the freezer. My husband is picking up 20 pounds of pears to can as well. Busy! Busy! Gotta fill up my squirrel hole before winter

Gotta fill up my squirrel hole before winter I gathered some pears and enjoyed eating some. Unfortunately I had too many irons in the fire and failed to can the pear preserves in time this year. I went back to pick more and deer and squirrels had beat me to them! Oh well, fortunately I canned some last year and after gifting and eating some I still have some canned jars for this winter! God is good and I always try to share a bit back to God's critters also!

I like to plant enough for both of us but sometimes the critters seem to get confused about which part is mine

Today was a dedicated canning day! Such plans!!! Trumped by family life and sudden responsibilities; best laid plans, and all that.... So i am freezing green pepper slices because I learned on Hickory Holler I can! And will be getting a winter batch of saurkraut going, so lots of slicing and packing the cabbage in a bit. Maybe I will be able to can tomorrow.

Going a bit stir crazy after I broke my elbow on thursday. Can hardly do a damn thing, had to be my right arm. Plans I had for canning and dehydrating beans is on hold for a few weeks and the shed that arrived is now still in pieces until the boy can get someone to replace me in the holding things together department!

Beautiful sunny Sunday morning. Waiting for my pears to ripen a bit before canning. Green peppers in dehydrator and then more okra. My granddaughter is recovering from Covid and doing better. Thanks for all the prayers we received from all. Really enjoying these cool temperatures.

I can imagine your frustrations with so much to accomplish before winter. Being a lefty for a bit is a challenge too as the world is set up for right handed on the majority. Take care of you especially right now, for proper healing. Thankfully you have accomplished some prepping that will come in handy while you recover. Stay positive. Maybe you could catch up on reading etc...May God bless you!
