Welcome everyone. My name is DirtDiva and I am the founder and admin for this site. I wear many hats. I am a mother, grandmother, a lifetime gardener and a 30 year homesteader. I started this site for a safe place for the many people I have met online to be able to come together and visit, compare notes and learn from one another. I hope to invite people from many walks of life. Prepper, gardener, farmer, homesteader, canner, home schooler and many more. We all bring something to the table and we can all learn from each other. So share!

I have been gardening for 2.5 yrs, hoping for an eventual homestead. This will be my first full summer canning up produce, so feeling a bit daunted by that. How you ladies do everything is beyond me! Here to learn and be part of a community. Thanks!

Hi Diva, I'm just 3 months shy of being 80 years young. I love crocheting, sewing, very basic quilting and reading. I have physical limitations that keep me from doing much bending and lifting so I grow most of my vegetables in containers. I'm looking forward to seeing the forum grow.

Fern Hello Fern I have a dream I envision a community where I am not the only one throwing stuff out there. I want everyone to be able to tell me how they can, what they prep/store and why. Eventually I want this to be an exchange of ideas, wisdom, and experience. Prepper, gardener, survivalist, homesteader and housewife/husband. I hope this will be an ever expanding place of learning.

Hi Diva, I am a gardener, knitter, quilter, and homesteader of 30+ years. Always looking to learn something new! I have read your blog for many years and have learned so much from it. Looking forward to making your blackberry cobbler again in a few weeks when the wild blackberries are ripe.

I am a grandmother of 9, greatgrandmother of 4, live in Utah, in a high desert at about 4000 ft. My dau, son in law and I built a home about 9 years ago on a half acre and I have a large 2 bed apt in the home. I am the residential gardener as they both work full time. We have chickens, (my 9 girls) and I have about 11 large garden boxes and many flower beds. It keeps me busy. I also can a lot each year. Last month I had all four grandchildren over for an afternoon of learning to make strawberry jam. It was quite the party ! I do most of the yard work, except for mowing and edging. I also have a young fellow who helps me at times with projects. I also have a small greenhouse and start my heirloom tomatoes and other plants each spring. I save my seeds each year. This year I am trying to plant a fall garden in July in some of my spare spaces. I will get some pictures of my garden. Love your blog and am so glad you are back blogging. Happy gardening to all !

Thanks for the invitation to join you. KimH

Hello everyone! I am a mother of three. We have homeschooled from the beginning. We graduated a daughter last year, so we still have two at home, both teenagers. I grew up on a big farm, and still live on the same farm. My father was a farmer and full-time pastor my whole life. My husband and I love to garden and have done so for about 18 years of our marriage. We both grew up with parents and grandparents that gardened. I still find there is so much to learn. I grew up on a tobacco and crop farm, I grow a garden total opposite haha! I love canning until its September then I am done with it all and ready to slow down! We grow a big garden every year and can everything we can. It helps stretch that one income, and we know exactly what is in our food. I am a long time reader of your blog, and refer to it often! Thank you for making a forum!
