This year I have a small garden and due to heat and not much rain it is nearing it's end. I planted onion sets, big boy tomatoes, beefsteak and Tommy toes. I have cayenne, banana and jalapeno's. White potatoes and sweet potatoes, a pumpkin, peaches and cream corn, zucchini and crookneck yellow squash. I lost my turnip greens, mustard, rape and kale and cabbages to bugs. I bought liquid Sevin dust and attached to hose to spray down garden and saved the rest from being destroyed also. I planted okra although I did not get any. Instead I grew a similar appearance plant with light purple blooms and a spiky knot, similar to cactus appeared in the branch of the stem at the top of the plant below the blooms? I had polk salat also to volunteer itself and left alone until it tried to take over. I also planted icicle carrots, zinnias, marigolds and wild flowers and sunflowers. I am ready to clear up soon and begin a green patch for fall. My maiden name is Flowers and partial to them, lol, although not allowed too many as cutting grass around them is a chore. For items I do not have I go to farmers market and farms.
