Wow. It's been a whirlwind around here. Long story as short as possible, lol: Almost a year ago, we sold our 80 acre back-woods farm to move closer to family. We found a rare 18 acre piece of abandoned-long-ago mini farm and here we are. Beat back the HUGE blackberries to make a beautiful garden area, started a barn REAL FAST and got it done enough just in time for my goats to kid! They've all kidded out now. My arthritic hands are suffering, so we've managed to whittle them down to 3 milkers and 3 kids to raise. Whew! Just this morning sent the last 'for sale' goat out the door - a fabulous milker and one of her doe kids born last week. Since we're under construction (living in a tear-down 700 sq ft house while we build), we still don't have power/water at the barn, so my milking machine just isn't feasible at the moment. LOVE my goats, but I NEED my hands, too, lol!!

I am only milking 2 does, my arthritic hands won't do more, and they make enough for the two of us.
I look forward to your goat stories!

Just saying ladies I have major goat envy. I love goats and have had them before. Now I only have chickens, ducks and rabbits. That being said I just don't think my hands would stand up to milking regularly at my age. Soooo I want lots of goat stories so I can live vicariously through your goat moments.
