I have 2 half gallon jars of apple cider vinegar fermenting from the peels and cores from making apple sauce. I so want to do this! I threw out my peels and cores. They were so riddled with worm holes. Would it still have worked?

I would hesitate with insects. Just pick up half a dozen apples and save the peels and cores in the freezer and then use them.
