Do any of you make rumptof with your fruits? I saw a rumptof crock on craigslist, and wondered if it would be worth the investment, flavor-wise.

Me too!! Google was my friend. It looks super interesting, but do I need another project? Lol!!!
i am finding I really appreciate low maintenance preserving methods. So much less work. Rumptof seems like an easy way to get fruits into the winter, though they also sound highly doctored up. 😂

Rumptof seems like an easy way to get fruits into the winter, though they also sound highly doctored up. 😂 I am going to be honest here. As I get older I look at some of these recipes and although they look great I tend to lean toward sticking to the basics. I am looking for fruit that can be canned with minimum effort and can be consumed straight out of the jar. Pear and peaches and such. I froze and dehydrated a great bit. Something to eat out of hand or throw into oatmeal or trail mix once dried. Not many jams or jellies because we just do not consume them that much. Maybe a few syrups for pancakes. Blueberries to throw into muffins and pancakes. Rhubarb and strawberries for pies. And the great part is that all of these fruit can be grown in my zone on my farm. My exception is figs. I do love figs fresh and a few jars of fig preserves.

What we should probably not be eating. ha!! I guess storing calories on my body probably isnt the healthiest way of preserving energy for the cold winter. 😂😜

Honestly, I think I want it soley because of it being a crock. I think crocks are amazing.
