So now that preserving and gardening is winding down, what do you guys do during the off season, aside from planning the next garden! Lol!
I haven't crocheted in years, but hoping to get it started up again. My mom, grandma and I were doing a three generation crocheted blanket. Mom and I got our blocks finished, but my grandma had a stroke and passed away before she was able to work on hers. My uncle sent me her yarn and what looks like the color pattern layout she was intending to do. So I think I will work on that. Also been feeling the itch to start sewing again. I sold my dress form this year, partly because it was for very small figures, and I have (ahem) changed in size. Lol!

I love to crochet or knit. Lately it has been knitting that has gotten most of my attention. I also quilt and while doing needlework I listen to audio books from online library. So relaxing. I have several UFO's. Unfinished Objects need to be finished as they aren't doing anyone any good in a box. 3 quilt tops are waiting with my name on them.

When I'm able, I love to bake. Cakes, pies and bread. During the summer, I'm either too busy, or it's to hot, or we don't really want much of anything to eat. I also like to sew and knit. Never been much for crochet or quilting.

My brain immediately went to sci-fi options, and I thought, "wow! She never blogs about that!!"

Wonder if I added a few blog posts about extraterrestrial UFO's if I would get more traffic??

Wonder if I added a few blog posts about extraterrestrial UFO's if I would get more traffic?? You could try it! LOL 😂😂Though you keep getting favorite blog awards!! But hey, maybe other planets want to learn homesteading as well.... in that vein, a couple movie marathons on a cold winters day sounds lovely. My favorite snow day pastimes are family all cozied up with blankets and popcorn. Watching movies and playing games. As hard as it is to see the garden winding down, and the chilly air starting to take over, I do relish the different seasons and how they each have their own delights and comforts. Fall is my absolutely favorite season, and this year I intend to enjoy it.

Ooh! I love movie marathons. I want to watch madmen again from the beginning. One of my favorites. Me and the dogs curled up on the couch

When I am not at work, being a dad or a husband, I thoroughly enjoy reading. Since I don't get much reading time in the summer months, winter is catch up time on books. First and foremost, the Bible is my daily read; beyond that, I do enjoy theology books, as well as books on history, homesteading, gardening, etc...
There is nothing quite like the feeling of being stuck indoors for the winter with nothing better to do than put on a sweater and grab a good book.
