Curious...does anyone have a flavorful handed down or favorite soup recipe that is pressured canned they would share? I believe I have enough jars to make a batch for winter and would like some ideas on options before I start this excellent winter comfort food! Thank you in advance for your favorites and advice! Happy Canning ya'll! 🍲

I do a stack soup. I get my jars sterilized and sear my cut up meat. Then I put about 1/3 meat in each jar. Then I add another 1/3 veggies Then I add some onions garlic etc then pour hot beef broth over all and pressure can for 90 minutes. Open and get hot and add thickener. Really you could add whatever you like in a soup. You could add a bit of tomato sauce to each jar. I just do not add any grains or thickeners.

My Aunt used to make an awesome soup with beef, butter beans, corn, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onion, okra, peas...I really like beef with barley too, and always open to new ideas and seasonings to enhance flavor too! Thank you, very good idea. I have read that roasting veggies for better flavor is best although not cooked too much as processing in pressure canner cooks the veggies and meat, so just need meat seared or half cooked to prevent mushy soup.

I would be careful with barley and not too much I will take your heed and if added, will add after jar is opened and prepping to serve.
